I looked for cast & crew overlap between the two movies but didn't find any, does anyone know if there were any?
First thing I said to myself coming out of BR2049: "if you removed the sound effect fillers + soundtrack, would that have been one of the worst movies of all-time?" Hyperbole of course, but it was truly an experience being blasted by the combination of ominous, eerie, retro-sci fi tunes and effects. Lots of the former reminded me of Arrival, particularly in the way they were used to create unsettling feeling and keep one engaged during transitions. This film had some outstanding shots but if I'm to watch it again it's more so for the sound, and definitely not the plot or dialogue.
