So my family just saw Coco and we loved it. Howeverb We did not enjoy the Frozen short before it. My dad made an interesting comment about the short after we saw the movie.
My dad said that he thinks that the Frozen short was placed because it emphasizes the notion of tradition and does so using ideas and traditions common to a mostly white audience. The idea is to get them comfortable with the mostly Mexican film by presenting what the cultures are common.
Whether its true I'm not sure but I think its some fun food for thought. (Source: Parents from Mexico, myself and sis first gen.)
