People seem mystified as to why DC movies, for the most part, suck. It's not that hard to figure out: the directors and writers they hire for these movies usually suck. Nolan's Batman trilogy was incredible because the writing and direction was top notch. And they made a ton of money. Somewhere along the line someone at Warner Brothers decided to give Zack Snyder the keys to the car and he's been driving it into the ground ever since. He has never had a critically praised movie, DC fans don't seem to care much for him, and his movies have almost all been commercial disappointments dispute being centered around can't miss properties. When I watch Nolan's Batman or even Jenkins' Wonder Woman, I can't help but wonder what would have been hand the other movies been in such capable hands, instead of "Yeah, he's the superhero guy, isn't he? Let's just give it to him."
