More women are into nerdy/geeky things now than ever before because the boys that were geeks back in the day became successful and had children, passing their passions onto their daughters as well as sons

Disclaimer: Obvious there are girls/women who are into that stuff completely independently and have been for much longer than it's been cool, but clearly it's more acceptable/mainstream now(for both genders, but definitely more so for women in contrast to how things were).
