I just finished watching Gerald's Game and reading from some people's takes on it. I'm not sure if Gerald ever even had a sex game, or if it was all the moonlight man. At one point during the sex game, "Gerald" begins taunting her that no one can hear her, and her husband can't help her. She responds by shouting for Gerald, and "Gerald" asks, "Who's that?" in a way that seems to be very serious.
Later in the movie she says that the police and everyone believed her that she had amnesia about what happened. At first I thought she just said that so no one would know she was doing anything kinky, but I now believe that she truly did have amnesia about the trauma of her and her husband being tormented by the crazed killer. If not, it is quite the coincidence that the mad man stumbled upon such a convenient scene. Not to mention that she managed to kick him such that he ended up laying prone at the foot of the bed.
