Before anyone says it, no, I'm not against humor in films, and I'm very against fake edginess or darkness in movies as well with no rhyme or reason, but I'm talking about comic reliefs in dramatic, more serious movies. Am I the only one who hates them?
There's a lot of amazing movies which I think are dragged down by comic reliefs, or at least seem very out of place in otherwise great movies. For example, War of the Planet of the Apes was a movie I believe it's an absolute masterpiece, but I though the character of Bad Ape seemed out of place and made some scenes a shore.
I also think that applies to the opposite. In the first Guardians of the Galaxy, a movie I love, the villain, Ronan the Accuser, seemed incredibly out of place by being overly dark and brutal among his fellow campy, fun characters.
