It was not very good. The best parts were the scenes recreating the best bad scenes from The Room, which has never really been amusing to me. Just something I watched on YouTube once to get the gist of the concept.
I guess I thought Disaster Artist might be entertaining somehow as a mockumentary-esque vibe, but it takes itself very seriously.
After the movie I watched some interviews with Franco about it. I don't think he likes Tommy that much. Whatever the project started as, after engaging with him to get it done. I didn't get the impression he was talking about (or a couple times to) Tommy with anything but thinly veiled disdain. It was kind of off-putting. Don't think I've ever seen James Franco like that.
