(Spoilers) What do people see in "The Square?"

I saw "The Square" last Thursday and left the theater extremely confused of what I just saw. The movie seemed all over the place in its storytelling and felt like it had plenty of moments that didn't add a thing to the story.

For example, the scene with the man who has turrets during the interview. What's the point of that scene? Even though it is acknowledged later, it didn't add anything to the story imo...

With a bit of research I understand the thesis being "Helping people can be harder than it seems," which is a fine message, but it just seemed to be executed in a very boring way. Am I missing something about Swedish culture?
