I might have missed something but did they ever explain what looked like a scar or a shaved area in the lower back of McDormand's hair? Was it just a sign of some abuse she received from John Hawkes' character? She kept that bandana covering it for most of the movie.
To fulfill character requirement: I love Martin McDonagh and I'm glad he won a screenplay GG this evening. He's only directed/written four films and one is a short film called Six Shooter with Brendan Gleeson that is really good and won the oscar for live action short film. Also, his brother is John Michael McDonagh and he made Calvary and it's also really good. I love these Irish boys!
