I'm surprised Return of the Jedi isn't considered the greatest of the OT

Over the last few days I've rewatched the original Star Wars trilogy for the first time in 15 years, and I was reminded again why Return of the Jedi was my favorite. Only this time, I enjoyed it more than I remembered, especially after A New Hope (and particularly) The Empire Strikes Back didn't quite (re)meet my expectations.

It's got the best dialogue, the best acting (the Emperor/Vader/Luke sequence is marvelous), the best humor, the best action, the best set pieces. I even love the Ewoks, they're adorable. The pacing also seems tighter than, say, Empire Strikes Back, which really loses steam somewhere soon after Hoth and meanders for a while.

Yet it seems like the fans don't regard this movie so highly? I'm not a Star Wars geek by any means, just a movie fan, and I think Return of the Jedi is by far the strongest Star Wars movie. The climax is an emotional roller coaster that you can't help but cheer along in the end.
