A siginificant protion of the scenes in the abandoned smelting plant were filmed in New Mexico, which Sir Patrick Stewart was not present due to scheduling conflicts. Stewart was artificially inserted into the scenes with the help of green screen, CGI, sets, a body double, and simply just filming certain shots in Louisiana when the actor was still available.
