At the moment I have a deadline coming up that requires I submit a topic proposal for my final project in my English class. I also have another deadline coming up for a topic proposal for my final project in my Media Criticism class. The English project will be a paper and the Media Criticism project will be a presentation. I know it's self-plagiarism to use your work from the past and resubmit without citing that you've already used it. But is it plagiarizing to use the same topic with similar ideas and research for different projects you're working on simultaneously? I was considering using the same topic and similar rhetorical statements for my English paper and my Media Criticism presentation.
