Let’s say that today someone comes up with a revolutionary way to structure a city, which would make transportation, doing every day activities more accessible. That transformation will either cost a LOT or imply demolishing everything and start up from scratch. Well, a natural disaster is good at demolishing things.
It’s funny how we sometimes only look at the bad side of an event.
Think it’s actually constructive to start from scratch from time to time, and this can be applied to anything : from how we decorate our home, our day to day routine to how the world is shaped. We keep innovating, but many times, it takes so long for these innovations to become mainstream.
