Paddington 2 is coming out this week, and so far the reviews are incredible. Unfortunately, it has the stigmatism of being a kids movie, so many people will probably skip out.
But guess what? The first Paddington film is on Netflix, and it is simply charming and magical in every sense. Other than Pixar films, kid movies often lack heart, or they are cheaply made cause to be honest, kids will watch anything you put in front of them.
Paddington does not fall into this trap one bit. Every single frame of this film looks like it has been approached with immense care and thought. It is ridiculously funny for all audience members; trust me, my college roommate was laughing the whole time. The acting is top notch from everyone, though Sally Hawkins and Nicole Kidman really stand out in their roles. The music and cinematography are very Wes Anderson-esque. I honestly cannot recommend this film enough.
