So we have seen several franchises run their course, or are still in on going (and some in danger of over-saturation). The Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, Harry Potter, Toy Story, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Pirates of the Caribbean, are examples of big movie franchises, some are done, over done, and still on going. But what will be the next huge franchise? Are there any rumors or news of a well known book series being adapted by a major studio? For example, Disney re-acquired the rights for The Chronicles of Prydain in Dec 2016 after a luck-luster adaption of Black Cauldron back in 1985. Is this going to be the new live action 5 movie franchise that will follow a group of young actors to adulthood? So, what have you heard?
