Both films deal in fairly similar themes ie. the role that AI is playing in human civilisation, what it means to be human etc. Which film do you think did the better job with their themes?
In fact, which film do you think was better in general? I watched Blade Runner 2049 a little over a week ago for the first time after picking it up on Blu-ray and I have to admit, I didn't like it. I found it to be an oppressively long film, not nearly as succinct as the original Blade Runner or Spielberg/Kubrick's AI. Perhaps that's just me and I wasn't able to digest Blade Runner 2049's meat but in the end I felt very cold by the film, even though it was supposed to have ended on a very poignant or emotional way.
