This isn’t as much a rant, as it is a point to be made. Say what you will about how good or bad you like or hate Horror films....You simply have to admit, that a VAST majority of horror movies receive completely unjustified reviews that just imply the absolute worse of everything about them. I feel like most people who reply will just disagree or say that horror movies don’t deserve them. But please, let me make a point. I know everyone complains about the hackneyed tropes of the genre and this affects the “originality” of them. But you’d have to be blind not to acknowledge the double standard in place for horror film reviews. For example... Rotten Tomatoes ratings of Marvel films... Thor-77%, Captain America-80%, The Avengers............92%. Now that’s just ridiculous, we’re stepping into Forrest Gump territory with that one. I’m not dissing marvel fans, they can watch their shitty movies just like I watch mine. But I just find a lack of people acknowledging this...Christ. If any genre has “Tropes” it’s Marvel cinematic movies lol. Just give me some good replies, I want to discuss this.
