As the Easter/Passover season is now upon us, I thought it would be interesting to discuss films with religious/spiritual themes, both overt and subtextual. So what are some of your favorites, and why?
I’ve always been very partial to “The Mission” with Jeremy Irons and Robert De Niro (and a very young Liam Neeson). It’s a remarkable film. I’d put Scorcese’s “Silence” a rung below, but that one stuck with me too over time.
