I feel like most movies that compile these "Most underrated movies" threads tend to focus on movies from the past 30-40 years and mostly ones made in the late 90's and up. What are some standout movies from the 70's, 60's, 50's, etc.?
Try not to include award winning and classic movies. No one thinks Casablanca or Citizen Kane are some hidden cinematic gems. If you want to include award nominated films that you don't think much of Reddit wouldn't know of, great.
For example, one of my favorite movies is the James Stewart movie Harvey, about the possibly mentally ill individual whose best friend is a giant, invisible rabbit. It's a well known film, but maybe not so much on reddit; kind of the same way it seems everyone on Reddit has heard of Primer, but most of the general public hasn't heard of it.
