Saying that star wars music is iconic is an understatement Williams themes for fhe franchise are some of the most recognizable in Hollywood.
You pick a person in a crowd and tell them to hum the star wars theme it would be difficult to find someone who couldnt. Ask someone what their favourite movie theme is and theres a good chance star wars is it.
Williams revealed a while ago that star wars IX could be the last time he writes any original music for the iconic franchise. If he is to replaced in the sequel sequel trilogy who could replace him?
Michael Giacchino did an admirable job with Rogue One. Keeping to the spirit of Williams style. John Powell is doing Solo with Williams doing the main theme.
However If fhey want any consistency in their musical scores in the future someone will need to take the reigns from Williams as a constant. Whoever that is will have big shoes to fill.
