Cryptocurrency exchanges operating in Australia will now come under the scrutiny of Australia's financial intelligence agency, AUSTRAC, and be monitored for money-laundering and terrorism funding activities. The new law gives AUSTRAC the powers to police digital currency exchanges (DCEs).
