I don’t know if this is the right place to ask this but I’ll go ahead anyways. So, to make a very long story short I accidentally married my friends 10 years ago. We were all 15 or 16 at the time and one of my best friends (we'll call her Emily) had started dating this guy (Jake) who she was in love with. They talked about marriage all the time so one day we decided just for fun to see how hard it would be to get a liscense to marry people. After a while of probably lying on websites we finally found one that allowed me to officially marry them. We had a fake little ceremony in the family bathroom at our church that Sunday and they filled out the documents that made them officially married. They actually broke up about 5 months later but neither of them even remembered the wedding. It wasn’t until a couple of days ago when Emily went to talk to someone about her wedding with her actual fiancé (Liam) that she found out she had actually been legally married to Jake for 10 years without either of them knowing. We’ve been looking for the website that we did it on but we believe it’s been deleted so there’s no way to figure out anything we can do about it. Logically, they could just divorce and she could marry Liam but A) they don’t have the money right now with the wedding and everything they had planned and B) after high school Jake kind of disappeared and nobody we knew back then has heard from him. We have no way to get in contact with him and Emily and Liam’s wedding day is approaching while Emily is still married to Jake. We don’t know what to do.
