About 10 years ago I watched a French or Belgian movie. Is was about a man that fell in love with his neighbor across the courtyard in their apartment building.
The final scene is what I remember most. He falls or jumps from the roof and sees his love in the window on the way down.
Odd love story is how I remember it.

Oh yeah there was something about napkins and maybe perfume.
