So it has been a long time since I saw the movie. But I faintly remember the ending of Jacob's Ladder. Basically the main character is dead and has been basically living in purgatory.
There is a memory or dream that he is trying to figure out. And by the end of the movie he figures out that the government gave them drugs that the government thought would make them fight better. But instead made them think that their fellow soldiers were the enemy. And they killed each other.
My question is, if I am remember this right. Was this literal and the soldiers literally killed friendlies in Vietnam because of the drug they were on. Or was it more of a metaphor, as in the drug they were given was propaganda. And that caused them to see their fellow man, the Vietnamese soldiers as enemies, and that is what they met by killing each other.
Thanks it has been more than 5 years since I saw this movie beginning to end. I remember loving the middle specially the dance scene. But wasn't in love with the literal ending.
