Call me a pansy but I can't help but feel hardcore gore fans are sick in the head. Horror and thrillers are an different because of the suspense and dread and atmosphere and mental anguish they can invoke. But gore movies like cannibal Holocaust or Siberian film or martyrs are kind of too fucked up to be acceptable. I get that they are part of the human psyche, and I can appreciate the practical effects and how they got it on screen. And of course it's cool to check one or two with your friends just for the shock factor and all being disgusted together in a bonding way. But people that are FANS of these movies and watch them over and over again. Like they have their own top 10 rankings of them. They specifically look them up and seek them and watch all sorts of horrible violence. I think these people are messed up man. You are what you digest. I think these movies should be banned in the way that porn is, and have a negative stigma associated with it. Like you can get it if you really want, but it's not something that is just normal and accessible.
