To this day Akira is one of my favorite films. I'm not against a live adaption with the condition that it's in good hands. If Warner Bros. finds the right director to adapt the manga. But it would have to follow the template of Peter Jackson's LotR. Three movies filmed back to back covering the material from the manga. While still a marvel in animation there was a lot of gaps in the story and that's because roughly 3/5 of it was missing. A trilogy could rectify that while giving all the characters their due.
