What do you think? Are there any times an actor worked with a director that seemed like they would be the PERFECT director for them to work with only for the actor's performance to not be so good, the movie to not be that great, or a combination of the two?
I got one: Christina Ricci in Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow. I thought the movie was pretty good but I thought her performance was surprisingly lackluster and wooden.
I dunno considering she was Wednesday Addams and she was in Casper, she's definitely got experience in Burton-esque movies, so having her be in an actual Tim Burton movie sounds like a great idea but her performance in one just wasn't that great. Also she was wildly miscast as Johnny Depp's love interest. She was barely 18 when she made the movie and man does she look it which makes her romance with a grown ass man just a teensy bit awkward. I mean, my god Burton, she was still in high school when she filmed this movie! High school!
