With TV series getting bigger and bigger budgets and with movie stars and directors being more willing to step into the world of television. What's stopping Game of Thrones from having weekly showings at your local AMC?
Is there any up-side for HBO, Netflix, Showtime, or Amazon to get their content into theaters? Maybe they make more money through subscriptions anyway?
Occasionally a 30 min TV show will get a movie (e.g. Entourage or The Simpsons), but I'm talking about theaters showing normal episodes of a show, perhaps during the same night or week that it airs on cable.
