I decided to watch this movie again after a decade and was blown away by how bad this movie was in almost every aspect. If this movie was released today it would be lucky to make it as a made-for-Netflix movie. Can anyone argue any redeeming qualities for this film? How did this movie win the academy award and does it represent a time in Hollywood where the academy was oblivious to actual racial tensions in America?
