*Dracula: Untold* - in the spirit of the classic Universal monster movies

I just watched Dracula: Untold, and it reminded me of the classic Universal monster movies. It had that tight pacing with no wasted scenes along with a short runtime, and certain parts felt very fairy tale. Everything had consequences in this film. It really felt like one of those old classics, but with modern moviemaking practices.

The cinematography was wicked cool. It was one of my favorite aspects of the film, along with the anti-hero Vlad III portrayed by Luke Evans. The vampires were all really cool, especially the old one portrayed by Charles Dance. If you are into the classic monster movies like Dracula or The Wolf Man, vampires, or even the historical Dracula, you should check out Dracula: Untold.

As a Vlad the Impaler buff, this movie isn't particularly historically accurate, and that's okay; Dracula Untold never claimed to be a documentary.

Overall, this was a cool little movie, and I appreciated the throwback approach to the film. I am shocked to see that it got a 24% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 40% on Metacritic. It is worth a watch.
