I'm talking when the imdb plot summary of a movie is so interesting/unique it hooks you. The movie doesn't have to be good (even though It's almost always good). Examples I can think of:
It's a Wonderful Life - An angel is sent from Heaven to help a desperately frustrated businessman by showing him what life would have been like if he had never existed.
City of God - Two boys growing up in a violent neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro take different paths: one becomes a photographer, the other a drug dealer.
Groundhog Day - A weatherman finds himself inexplicably living the same day over and over again.
Inception - A thief, who steals corporate secrets through the use of dream-sharing technology, is given the inverse task of planting an idea into the mind of a CEO.
Deadpool - A fast-talking mercenary with a morbid sense of humor is subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers and a quest for revenge. (interesting if you don't know the character).
