I want to generate a list of quintessential films that are super nostalgia-heavy. Think films that helped inspire Stranger Things. They can be newer films too but I’m looking for ones that check that box: ambient, sci fi, suburbia, creepy, horror, thriller, nostalgia, pop culture etc etc.
I’ll start the list with some obvious choices:

- Poltergeist
- Donnie Darko
- Zodiac
- Halloween
- Friday the 13th
- It Follows
- The Virgin Suicides
- Paranormal Activity 3
- Super 8
