The "Flemish" they spoke was full of faults, the accents were completely wrong, hell it wasn't even just Dutch. On top of that, halfway through the peasants start talking French. You can say what you want, but poor flemish farmers did not get the education, nor did they have the need, to learn French.
Did any of the other language spoken in the movie have the same effect for native speakers?
