I was watching Se7en as I do once a week and admired the fact that the films plot was consistent throughout and never broke down. It was clear where the film was heading from the first second and finals acts and didn't stray from its point and never feels contrived.
Now I was watching Age Of Ultron and Million Dollar Baby and the fundamental problem in both of those films in my opinion is the films in a since either rigidly sticks to a point or betrays the point by the end.
In the case of Million Dollar Baby the films presents itself as a story of hard work and discipline but breaks down into a tragic story with no meaning by the end just to do so.
Now Age Of Ultron is the same in ways but differs slightly. The film presents an idea of a godlike figure fixing the world for the better but crumbles and all the heroes need to beat Ultron is teamwork. Which after watching Infinity War is so refreshing because the film sticks to its plot and theme and never betrays it.
So I know I rambled a bit but what are some other examples of my question.
