This is a long shot but I remember studying this scene in a class in film school and I’m trying to remember what movie it is.
Iirc the movie was black and white and the opening shot started as a close up of a revolver and slowly tracked out (backwards and up vertically) to reveal the whole town in what I believe was an imminent new shootout. Ringing any bells?
