Why aren’t movies filmed and displayed in 60 FPS?

So this thought came about when I was watching YouTube short action movies in 60 FPS and the scenes just felt so smooth and lifelike.

So I’m wondering, why hasn’t Hollywood adapted to film in 60 FPS?

Is it because current theatres are lacking the technology to display it, or 60 FPS would be too difficult to edit?

Seeing as most display devices now have a bare minimum of 60 FPS, I really don’t understand why movies and television is still done in 24, 29.97, 30 FPS.

If anyone has insight, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
