This may sound a bit naive but does this actually happen or is it just a conspiracy? Does anyone have any concrete evidence of it happening? I’ve noticed almost every big blockbuster these days opens with an unrealistically high score.
Look at Deadpool 2 or even Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom - it’s on 8.2 and gotten a bunch of 10/10 reviews already.
