So I just finished watching The Sixth Sense for the first time. Great flick. Loved it. At the end, Bruce Willis says to his sleeping wife that he thinks he can go now after realizing that he's dead. And when I saw this, I had a distinct memory of this other movie where, I believe towards the end, the protagonist says goodbye to the ghost who was helping them throughout the movie, and they say something similar like "I have to let you go now." And then the protagonist goes on to finish his quest or whatever to finish the movie. But I can't remember what it is and it's really bugging me! I think it would be a fairly modern movie, something since 2000. But other than that I can't remember much, it's really just a whiff of a memory.
While writing this, Harry Potter 7 part 2 came to mind, but I just watched the clip on youtube and I don't think that's it.
EDIT: Some suggestions in this thread have helped me hone in on the memory. I believe the person is asleep/unconscious, maybe knocked out in the course of a fight. Saying goodbye to the ghost/memory leads them to wake up abruptly.
EDIT 2: Pretty sure its like a dead wife or girlfriend, and the memory of them has been holding the (I'm now pretty sure) male protagonist back.
