Title, basically.
So, I was born with ADHD, into a family that didn't believe in mental illness. I found ways to cope, but was constantly unable to engage in life the way most people do. I was always scolded for "not listening," or missing important details, when in reality I was just... easily distracted.
As a result, I had difficulty watching most movies. For example, I've seen James Cameron's "Avatar" at least 5 times, and the most I could tell you is that there are floating islands, blue people, and a big ass tree. The only movies I've taken anything away from are a few chaotic Edgar Wright films (Scott Pilgrim, for example) and other similar films--Doctor Strange, for example.
Recently, a bout of depression made it significantly worse, and I finally decided to reach out to a psychiatrist. I've since been medicated properly, and I've found a new focus on activities I've never seen before.
As a result, I fucking love movies. I've caught up on the MCU entirely, watched Get Out and The Arrival, and will probably rent A Quiet Place when it comes out.
What movies can you recommend? What should I watch next?
