I think Revolution Road (2008) is a good example of this, I love the movie and the performances from all the actors but I feel like it would have made a way bigger impact if it had been made in the 60's with Paul Newman like the producer intended too
I mean can you imagine? An anti-conformist message film showing an abortion on screen coming out during that time period?
