The two older kids seemed old enough to fend for themselves and their sister for a few hours til their mom came home. I know my brother and I would come home from school alone for a couple hours until my mom got home (both parents were teachers so mom got back not too long after we did). They would only be home alone for what? Two hours? If they were responsible enough not to abandon the younger one (who I assume takes a bus home, and I believe they were), what do they need a nanny for? To get dinner started? Why not just eat a snack in the meantime?
