Bleach (Live-action, 2018) had one of the most well-choreographed and well shot sword fights that I've seen in recent years

No spoilers in the below discussion, but the linked clip is from near the end of the movie (but doesn't reveal any plot details) so be warned

I've always had a low opinion of live-action anime adaptations: poor quality sets and props, shoddy acting, condensing an entire series into a single movie (looking at you live-action Full Metal Alchemist) but Bleach has always had a special place in my heart so I thought I'd give it a shot despite my low expectations. I was surprised to find myself enjoying it, and even more surprised at how well done the action scenes were, especially this one. Its obvious these actors put in a ton of training and the director did an amazing job of filming it. Bless him for not cutting at every single sword strike and letting the camera linger so your eyes can drink in that sweet action. There are a some other fun fights, but this one has very little to no CG and I just wanted to bring attention to the pure physicality of these two actors.

As action movies go, I would say its a fun pop corn flick. As anime adaptations, its one of the extreme few I'd consider well done. Its on Netflix in the US. At the very least its worth it to skip to the action scenes :P
