If you haven’t seen Baxter (1989), you are doing yourself a disservice.

“I’d never seen anything so weak.”

Are you really going to miss out on watching a utterly brilliant french horror/dark comedy about a dog with antisocial personality disorder & a boy with conductive disorder that’s (co-)written by Jacques Audiard?

I think not.

”Someday she’ll grow tired of watching the creature, then I’ll push the creature in with the fish and when it’s too late, I’ll call for help.”

”The boy isn’t like the others. He’s taught me lots of sounds. When he wakes up, I can’t move until he makes the calling sound. When he does, it feels like a chain tightening around my neck. It hurts, so I obey. But there’s more to it. It give me... pleasure. The greatest pleasure I’ve ever had. He commands, I obey. And I have no more unnatural thoughts.”

If anyone is thinking of watching this film, it’s on YouTube for free.

I haven’t seen a single person mention it before (on reddit or otherwise), so I thought I’d recommend. If anyone has seen this film, I’d love to talk about it.
