Had a sudden memory of a movie I watched as as kid in the 1990s. Can’t be sure when it was released. Sci fi thriller (at least to young me).
Protagonists have to leave the lights on, or else are attacked/consumed and found in a cocoon. Vividly remember bodies being found hanging in a cocoon. Think I remember someone going out into the darkness, being found hanging in a cocoon, face translucent and showing through. The horror of a light going out with the main cast.
MAYBE: aliens, spiders, seem to remember camping ground huts.
