Posted this on r/tipofmytongue but thought I should share here too. I saw this on TV in the very early 90s, so it had to have been made in the 70s-80s. Live action, in color. Not sure of the rating but I remember it being a little violent. I only remember the ending!
The hero, possible a knight or something, is slowly sword-fighting through a congested medieval city with lots of long, narrow alleyways. I feel like he fights and kills some weird guy that has a mask with two faces. He gets chased by a pack of dogs or wolves and has to scramble up a building to get away from them. Some old guy helps him to a roof (possibly his mentor? I dunno) as the dogs growl and jump ravenously below. The hero and the old man talk as they look out over the city. That was the end of the film as far as I can recall. Please help!
