Caught an advance screening of "Bad Times at the El Royale"

Just caught an advance screening of Drew Goddard's next film "Bad Times at the El Royale". Without getting into too much detail, it was a pretty enjoyable ensemble chrime thriller, not dissimilar to Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight" with a dash of 60's glitz. The plot might not blow everyone way, but part of the appeal is seeing the characters, with their own hidden agendas and skeletons in the closet, inter-mingle and scheme as their paths clash with one another at the titular hotel (which still leads to some "OH SHIT" moments). The ensemble cast is overall solid to great, with Jeff Bridges and Cynthia Ervo anchoring the whole movie, and Chris Hemsworth still having a ball with his role, despite how limited it is. Last but not least, the set design is nothing short but stunning. The El Royale is practically a character of its own and lends so much style and personality to the entire movie. Definitely worth checking out on 10/12.
