I understand allot people work hard on these films and post credit scenes may be a way to get viewers pay more attention to the credits. Its important for industry professionals and their loved ones to have a visible record of who was involved, but i can't see the point of sitting through credits for regular watchers. It seems like something solely useful for those involved with making or producing movies.
For me it is just a wall of text, and a long list of names I couldn't possibly remember. The only ones I will remember are the actors, and maybe the director. I'm not sure how much can be done about that.
If credits are only useful to a small segment of the population, is it still necessary or wise to have general viewers sit through them to see scenes relevant to the movie they paid to watch? Is there a point to post-credits scenes if moviegoers talk or blank out while they wait for the clip(s)? Relevant scenes could be put before the credits to save time and for convenience. It wouldn't harm those who have a reason to watch credits, they have their own motivation.
