My favorite thing to do is to engage with fictional worlds, from my since-childhood obsession with Harry Potter’s wizarding world, or my love for The Elder Scrolls, to my more recent curiosity towards the Lovecraft mythos. Though as more and more new properties pop out of the woodwork, I’m wondering if I’m missing out, or if it’s better to emotionally invest in one world’s lore.
If so, I’m looking for a world who’s lore is expansive, stable in the sense that things don’t get retconned all the time, and in which there is a future on the horizon and a vibrant community surrounding it. I don’t care if it’s novels, movies, tv, games or anime.
In all honesty I still love Harry Potter and they seem to be moving to expanding the world but I’m feeling kinda strange about the last movie. As for ESO, it is pretty much a prime example of what I like, but I’ve grown uncertain about Bethesda and fear to be disappointed if I invest too much in its lore.
