Like the title says, I’m (M22) putting in a lot more effort than my gf (F33) is. In a way, it’s understandable because my gf is in medical school and she’s a single mom and I just took a job in the state that we both want to start our lives in while she’s back home finishing up med school. But even before then, I’ve always felt like I’ve put in more effort then her.
At first, I didn’t mind because of what she’s been through. But now, after a couple of years, I honestly am starting to feel a little burnt out. I’m honestly not exactly getting the attention that I want (sounds a little dumb lol) like I used to in the beginning and I know why, but a little effort and affection would help.
I’ve talked about this numerous times to her and she says that she’ll try a little more, but immediately after, nothing. I understand why and I know she’s a terrible multi-tasker and all. I love her with all my heart and I know she does too, but I’m a little burnt out. I really don’t want to leave her. But talking doesn’t seem to help as much. What should I do? Continue to be patient due to her insanely busy schedule?
