Im looking for my favorite verson of this ballet. It used to air on pbs every year. The version Im looking for has the one-eyed Uncle Drooselmeyer giving the Nutcracker, then appearing multiple times in the story, always with the signature eye patch.
It also has a cool scene where the ocean is portrayed by multiple layers of wave-shaped cut wood(?) Moving side to side in opposite directions.
I believe the ending has some type of revelation about the uncle being the nutcracker. And when the curtain quickly drops at the end, the curtain is a giant nutcracker with an eye patch on it.
Sorry if these details dont help much, I haven't watched this version in years, but i just had a dream where i was a kid again and i watched it. The dream was so vivid that i woke up in tears. I'm not usually one for ballets but it was beautiful and I really love the music. Can anyone help me find this? I've been googling for 3 hours now.
